RECREATION ASSISTANT BOWLING

This position may perform all or some of the following duties as assigned:
Greets all patrons and assign lanes, league and open play cards in numerical sequence, collects shoe rentals, bowling fees and locker fees. Sells bowling equipment and accessories. Rings sales on cash register and makes change, assuring all cash handling requirements are met. Maintains a cash register and makes change, assuring all cash handling requirements are met. Sanitizes shoes after each use and before storing. Assist the manager on duty in maintaining order in the facility. Answers routine questions from patrons regarding schedules, equipment services, prices, etc. Relays patron suggestions and complaints to the manager on duty. Maintains record cards as appropriate. Maintains storerooms and customer areas in a state of cleanliness, ensuring they are free of trash and are properly stocked. Maintains stock cleaning materials and supplies required to perform assigned duties. Notifies the manager on duty when additional material is needed. Advises in maintaining the Bowling Center facility and grounds. Picks up in the patron areas, vacuums, and sweeps and mops floor(s). Cleans windows, mirrors, doors and water fountains. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes urinals and toilet bowls. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels and soap. Replaces burned out light bulbs. Cleans and performs touch-up painting on walls and ceilings, replaces air filter and assists with any related maintenance not performed by PWD Policies grounds including weeding, picking up trash and snow removal. Inspects and notes condition of restroom facilities, and repots to the manager on duty such discrepancies as broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains and other conditions requiring maintenance. Maintains storerooms, and customer areas in a state of cleanliness Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED A minimum of 6 months' work experience with cash register/cash handling responsibilities is required. Recreational knowledge of, or working experience in a bowling center is strongly preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age, be able to read, write and understand both written and verbal instructions. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately. Must be able to demonstrate and use polite, courteous customer service. Must be able to perform simple cleaning tasks. Must maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance. SUPERVISORY CONTROLS This position works under the direct supervision of the Bowling Center Manager or shift supervisor who provides specific assignments and is available for advice and guidance. Performs duties in accordance with instructions and established procedures. Work is reviewed in progress upon completion for adequacy and compliance with instructions. GUIDELINES Guidelines include, but are not limited to:
BUPERS instruction 1710.11C, NPC,, Program, Command, and/or MWR instructions, policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) as published. Refers complex or unusual situations to the duty manager for resolution. COMPLEXITY, SCOPE AND EFFORT Tasks are repetitive in nature and guidance is generally clear. The position contributes to customer satisfaction, which in turn encourages use and profitably of the bowling center. Quality of life programs increase the satisfaction of military service, and contribute directly to the retention of quality personnel. PERSONAL CONTACTS AND PURPOSE Contacts will regularly be with patrons of the facility, including enlisted, officer, VIPs and family members, MWR staff, supervisors and managers, personnel and administrative support staff and vendors. The purpose of these contacts will be to provide services, facilitate operations, conduct business and obtain necessary assistance and/or supplies. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT This position requires continuous walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting. Moderate physical effort is required continuously in the performance of the cleaning tasks described. Must have the ability to reach above shoulder height. Must have the ability to move furniture, equipment and supplies weighing up to 45 pounds unassisted. Work is performed indoors with proper hear, light and ventilation. The incumbent is exposed to conditions inherent in the cleaning tasks described. May be subject to seasonal work. May work in the presence of cigarette smoke, alcohol consumption and rough language. SPECIAL REQUIRMENTS One year experience or satisfactory completion of a certified ball drilling school is preferred. This position is subject to an irregular tour of duty, which may include nights, weekends, holidays and seasonal work. May be required to travel to other locations to support MWR operations and/or receive training. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
