Data Scientist, Junior
Key Role:
Leverage expertise in various machine learning or machine intelligence techniques, including neural networks, deep learning, random forests, image processing, and analytical expertise to explore and examine data from multiple disparate sources with the goal of discovering patterns and previously hidden insights to build predictive models, which in turn can provide a competitive advantage or address a pressing business problem. Stay up to date on the latest machine learning capabilities. Implement custom algorithms with senior data scientist oversight and create graphical user interfaces, flow processes, and layouts for complex modeling, data mining, statistical analysis, and research purposes. Work with scientists and business leaders on difficult engineering problems with minimal engineering or data science backgrounds.
Basic
Qualifications:
Experience with multiple programming languages, including Python, C++, R, MATLAB, or Java
Knowledge of various machine learning algorithms, statistics, and mathematics principles
Ability to easily learn new programming languages
Ability to obtain a security clearance
BA or BS degree
Additional
Qualifications:
Experience with big data architecture platforms and extracting information from disparate data sources and merging them together for analysis
Knowledge of advanced machine learning capabilities, including gradient boosting, random forests, or Convolutional Neural Networks
Secret clearance
MA or MS degree in Mathematics, CS, Engineering, or a related field preferred; PhD degree a plus
