AV Archives Assistant

Position Objective:
To assist PETA's A/V Archivist with the arrangement, description, and usage-rights management of digital and analog audiovisual materials to ensure long-term preservation and accessibility.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
o Archive digital photos and videos according to the established practices for PETA's A/V Archives
o Append detailed metadata to digital files to enhance searchability
o Ensure that usage rights for A/V material is verified and documented
o Handle photo requests and usage rights inquiries from various departments and from PETA and its affiliates
o Assist with A/V projects using material from the archives
o Assist with other archives projects as needed
Position Requirements:
o Degree in a related field or two years of experience working with digital archives
o Knowledge of general cataloging principles and best practices for digital media
o Experience with Mac operating systems
o Basic familiarity with audiovisual equipment
o Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines in a professional manner
o Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
o Commitment to the objectives of the organization

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
