Cable Technician Foreman
The Cable Technician is responsible for installation and connection of computer and communication cable for company customers. The Cable Technician must meet demands that are both physical and mental in nature while also acting as a suitable representative of the company in all environment. The Cable Technician must train and supervise Assistant Cable Technicians and Helpers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Drive an automobile or light truck with automatic transmission to and from the company office and job sites on a daily basis.
2. Load and unload materials and tools.
3. Safely and efficiently install and connect copper LAN wiring, telephone wiring, and fiber optic cables, in strict accordance with written and oral specifications and instructions.
4. Solve installation and connection problems safely and efficiently as they arise on the job.
5. Assimilate new methodologies, technologies and concepts relating to cable installation and connection.
6. Maintain proper documentation and paperwork.
7. Work effectively and efficiently with customers and supervisors.
8. Communicate effectively and efficiently with customers and other contractors.
9. Perform job duties and functions with minimal supervision from Cable Technician Foreman or other job supervisors where appropriate.
10. Effectively and efficiently train and supervise Assistant Cable Technicians and Helpers.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
