Production Manager ( Fabrication, Machine, and Welding)

Description:
Will supervise, establish and coordinate the production schedule in a fabrication shop environment. Responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in all phases of a fabrication facility, including welding, fabricating, wiring, sand blasting, painting and QC testing. Perform other duties as required.


Duties:

Ensures that the flow of materials, work force resources, floor space and equipment are adequate to meet a fast paced production schedule. Implements operational policies and QC procedures. Ensures safe, efficient operation of all fabrication equipment and documents all work performed. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product internally and of subcontractors. Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations that affect the plant operations, and comply with Federal regulations and company safety policies and practices to promote safety awareness in the plant. Supervise workers in performing root cause analysis for any abnormal conditions/failures, taking required corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence of such conditions. Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.

Has in-depth expertise in welding, and electrical, machining, and process systems
Applies technical and/or managerial expertise to improve effectiveness and provide guidance to employees in all areas of production.
Anticipates and interprets customer needs to identify solutions
Interprets business issues and adapts work priorities in own area
Manages budget for own area and allocates resources accordingly
Resolves operational, customer, employee or technical problems that impact the effectiveness of own area
Develops plans and coordinates resources to meet operational objectives within own area
Support Company cost savings ideas within area of responsibility
Drive a Safety First Culture
Explains difficult concepts and persuades others to adopt a point of view
Manages the performance of employees through goal setting, ongoing assessment and coaching. Requirements: BS degree in a related field with 3-5 years experience in a fabrication/machine/welding shop environment.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
