Lead Operations Facility Equipment Technician *$3,000 Service Bonus*

Hiring Salary:
$50,000 $3,000 Service Bonus The Lead Operations Facility Equipment Technician is responsible for performing a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of all operations facility equipment and the bus and train washes.
The Lead Operations Facility Equipment Technician will be responsible for the cleanliness/appearance, and the good working order of all operations facility equipment.
This work includes assisting with coordination of maintenance tasks and projects, creating service requests, assigning work orders in the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system, inspecting work to make sure standards have been met, ordering mechanical parts and supplies, using diagnostic equipment, providing support and advice with repairs, overseeing preventive maintenance on equipment, oversight of Operations Facility Equipment Technician(s), and decision making when Facilities Maintenance Manager is unavailable.
Must be available on nights and weekends, including holidays.
Must be able to fill an on-call status.
Essential Job Functions:

) Provide oversite of all contract work associated with operations facilities equipment.
Install and repair equipment as per manufacturers specifications.
Inspect operations facility equipment to ensure proper operation and cleanliness.
Perform operational tests on rail and bus washes and make repairs as necessary.
Coordinate with bus and rail Managers/Superintendents/Supervisors for the repair and scheduled testing of equipment.
Be the point of contact for any afterhours emergency repairs of equipment that will cause delay in service.
Ensure the proper inspections/certifications of bus lifts and associated equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on operations facility equipment adhering to manufacturer's suggested recommendations for periodicity.
Assist in Ferry Boat maintenance when directed.
Assists with providing appropriate formal and On-The-Job (OJT) training for staff.
Designates work order assignments in EAM and monitors their work to achieve the completion of tasks.
Determines what tools and equipment are needed to perform maintenance.
Assists Facilities Maintenance Manager in providing oversight and supervision to the Operations Facility Equipment Technician and facilities service contracts.
Contacts appropriate outside agencies as needed to schedule service by trained personnel, inspections, obtain required permits, and arrange for disposal of hazardous waste and chemicals.
Performs lead functions as assigned by Facilities Maintenance Manager.
Manage records created and received in compliance with the Hampton Roads Transit Records Management Policies and Procedures.
Responsible for maintaining a general awareness of HRT's Safety and Security Plan.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills essential to Job Functions:
General knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and hydraulics.
With minor supervision, this position will work independently to make repairs, and perform routine maintenance on operations facility equipment.
Position will be required to use their knowledge to prioritize problems and troubleshoot them to identify solutions.
Position must be able to multitask and prioritize those tasks into order of importance.
Position must have good communication skills both verbal and written and be able to maintain detailed records.
Required Software Knowledge and Skills essential to Job Functions:
Proficiency in using computer systems and the listed software applications associated with performance of assigned work is essential.
Basic problem-solving skills associated with software applications used is expected.
Software usage relevant to job duties will be evaluated.
Software applications:
Ability to use computers is required including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, HRT's Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software for maintenance, and HRT's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for finance.

Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures and policies.
Take an active part in reporting unsafe conditions and any hazards within the workplace to their Supervisor, Manager and/or the Safety Department.
Training and/or Education:
High school diploma or GED certificate required.
Basic mechanical skills, plumbing skills, electrical skills and use of hand tools and power tools.
Trade schools certificate, college courses or equivalent work experience related to facilities maintenance, including bus wash maintenance.

Experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience in the maintenance field of work.
Licenses or Certificates:
