General Public - GJob Duties This posting and position is open to veterans only.
Assist unemployed and employed veterans, Transitioning Service Members (TSMs) and military spouses who seek employment services to obtain suitable employment and services.
Provide basic and individualized career services to veterans, TSMs and military spouses as applicable; address employment needs and facilitate placement into suitable positions; meet with clients and employers; conduct interviews and offer services; and develop relationships with community providers to locate and assist veterans, TSMs and military spouses who would otherwise be unable to access a One-Stop facility or be eligible for services.
Build strong relationships with military base personnel and partners to connect TSMs to valid employment and include the VEC in the separation process.
Work with potential employers to promote program and increase employment of TSMs.
Work with staff and partners to ensure integrated service delivery, especially for those needing intensive services.

Minimum QualificationsKnowledge of military protocol and services; career counseling, interviewing, and job placement principles and techniques; community resources, counseling services and social programs; and veteran issues and services.
Strong oral and written communication, marketing, customer service and computer skills (Microsoft Office Professional or comparable software programs).
Ability to build strong relationships and interact effectively with various parties; conduct interviews, outreach, and training; make presentations; analyze and report data; prepare reports and training materials; assess and match client skills to open positions; prepare and manage file documentation; and apply program standards and procedures.
Must be willing to travel about 75% of the time to meet with relevant parties and possess valid driver's license.
Preferred QualificationsCollege degree in human resources, business or public administration, counseling, psychology, social work, or related field and/or equivalent experience and training.
