Portsmouth, Virginia Norfolk Naval Shipyard This position supports the US Navy at the Aircraft Carrier Planning Activity (CPA) at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia.
The CPA's mission is to develop and execute aircraft carrier life cycle maintenance plans that enable the ships to achieve their 50-year design life.
The Life Cycle Analyst assists CPA engineers, engineering technicians, and ship life cycle managers by gathering, organizing and displaying maintenance data to support decisions that impact the Aircraft Carrier Class Maintenance Plan (ACCMP).
Ability to multi-task, work independently on data projects, and work well with others in a deadline-driven environment is essential to success.
Duties and qualifications, identifying both essential and marginal duties:
Typical work requirements include:
Retrieve and organize system maintenance data from various sources (i.
e AIM, CCIMS, 3-M OARS, ship drawings, CDMD-OA) into formats that can be readily manipulated, analyzed and socialized with the technical community.
Perform data entry, data management, maintain/update database information and generate reports from database applications such as EXCEL, ACCESS and ORACLE to support Aircraft Carrier Life Cycle Maintenance products.
Understand and apply the concepts of Reliability Centered Maintenance.
Participate in studies of ship systems to determine maintenance effectiveness and cost trends for availabilities using data obtained from corporate databases such as OARS and AIM.
Develop/modify/maintain standard work statements to describe scope of work for routine depot repairs, assessments and services.
Assist with development of the CVN68 and CVN78 Class Maintenance Plans (CMP), Technical Foundation Papers, and documentation to support the Department of the Navy's Program Objective Memorandum (POM) submittal.
Experience Requirements:
Two to three of experience related to the work requirements.
Understanding of Navy ship maintenance processes, terminology and documentation.
Understanding of ship equipment and systems.
Familiarity with navy maintenance databases.
High proficiency in MS Office, with particular expertise in MS Excel to include the ability to create and use pivot tables and develop Excel macros.
Navy shipyard planning/integration experience or shipboard engineering (hull, mechanical or electrical) experience is desirable but not required.
Educational Requirements:
HS diploma or equivalent.
BA/BS degree in a relevant field involving data management is desired but not required.
Security Requirements:
US citizenship Secret clearance (at time of application).

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
