Harbor's Edge is a premier resort-style and not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located on the harbor in Norfolk, Virginia.
Harbor's Edge completed a $225 million expansion earlier in 2022 (https:

com/283999844) called the River Tower that includes an additional 24-story tower, doubling the square footage, adding 147 residential living units and 20 assisted living units.
Harbor's Edge has 300 residential units in two Towers in addition to a small Skilled Nursing unit and 80 Assisted Living/Memory Care units.
The Community employs approximately 300 employees, and current annual revenues are approximately $30 Million.
The Security Officer is responsible for the security and safety of the building, grounds, employees, and residents.
He/she is the first responder (within the community) to an emergency call from an Independent Living Resident.
This is considered an Essential Personnel position.
Responsibilities Make hourly rounds inside and outside of facility to ensure safety and security of residents, staff, and visitors.
This includes checking that certain equipment is in working order Participate in required training and meetings Greet residents, staff, and visitors professionally; monitor that visitors sign in and out Complete required paperwork Respond promptly to security/fire alarms and any perceived threat to facility or individual security.
Follow established procedures for contacting appropriate authorities, assisting residents and staff, etc.
Assist nursing staff in emergency calls Respond promptly to emergency call system activation in an Independent Living residence.
Follow appropriate procedures and training to assess resident's needs.
As necessary, call for assistance from nursing or external emergency services On request, escort residents, staff, or visitors to their vehicles Address equipment malfunctions (security, fire, alarm, etc.
) and assist with repairs as appropriate Performs other duties as assigned Requirements:
Qualifications At least 3 years of related work experience High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Ability to read, write, follow written and spoken instructions, and communicate effectively Valid Virginia driver's license Valid Virginia EMS First Responder Certification, including CPR certification Satisfactory intellectual and emotional functions to ensure patient safety and exercise independent judgement and discretion in the performance of assigned responsibilities Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience, compassion, integrity, and discretion Knowledge of security procedures and equipment Knowledge and skills necessary for emergency first response within community Computer literate with good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
