Summary:
Responsible for the verification and completeness of incoming shipments against receiving reports such as bills of lading invoices, reports of goods received (RGR) and internal transfer documents.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Checks and verifies incoming/outgoing merchandise deliveries (vendor and/or warehouse transfer merchandise); signs pertinent receiving documents in verification of merchandise received; assists in loading/unloading of delivery trucks; checks incoming shipments for spoilage or damage.
Estimates and/or monitors purchase of perishable and nonperishable merchandise for assigned section and advises vendors of adjustments in daily or weekly orders.
Prepares breakout of merchandise from back up warehouse storage areas; marks or supervises the marking and stocking of merchandise.
Disposes return to vendor merchandise from departments.
Ensures security of spaces and ensures that no merchandise moves from receiving area without proper completion and verification of receiving documents.
Provides work direction and orientation to storeworkers of lower grades; stocks and supervises the storage of merchandise in stock area; moves merchandise from stock area to sales area; determines proper display area and amount of shelf space for items in retail area; in coordination with supervisor, determines the priority of work to be accomplished on a day-to-day basis.
Participates in inventory counts. Counts stock on scheduled dates and advises supervisor of slow moving and/or damaged items.
Maintains responsible areas in a neat and orderly manner; observes and assures observance of all safety, sanitary regulations and practices.
May operate materials handling equipment in carrying out assigned duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending and moving arms in filling shelves and counter; may lift and carry merchandise up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in store display areas which are well lighted and maintained at a comfortable temperature. In working in the storage area or loading/unloading dock, may be exposed to hot or cold weather or damp and drafty conditions. Is exposed to the possibility of injury from falling or dropping stock, and exposure to cuts, bruises and lacerations.
Qualifications: GENERAL
Experience:
One year of experience performing warehousing related duties, such as receiving, storing, issuing, shipping, operation of manual material movement equipment, etc. or similar work that provided the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of the position.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR
Experience:
One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.
SPECIALIZED
Experience:
One year of warehousing experience including work that demonstrated the ability to prepare material receiving and transfer documentation, provide direction to lower graded warehouse workers, and ability to operate a fork lift.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:
Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending and moving arms in filling shelves and counter; may lift and carry merchandise up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
